Forms and portals that handle personal information
Collecting only what the business uses, encrypting it in transit and in backups, limiting who can see it, and writing down where it goes and how long it's kept.

Emyrix LLC is a web development company registered in Massachusetts. We build business websites, customer portals, and web applications, and take over sites other developers built, for businesses in Boston, around New England, and across the United States.
Web development from Massachusetts, working with businesses across the United States.
Overview
A lot of websites hold more than they appear to. A quote form asks for a home address. A customer portal keeps account details. An application form takes a date of birth. Once a site collects personal information about Massachusetts residents, state law covers how it's kept: Chapter 93H requires anyone who owns or licenses that information to protect it, under the state's data security regulations, 201 CMR 17.00.
Whether your business meets those regulations is a question for your lawyer, and we don't give legal advice. What we do is the engineering that question depends on. Forms that only ask for what the business uses. Encryption in transit and in backups. Two-factor sign-in for anybody with admin access. Dependencies kept patched. A written answer to where submitted data goes and how long it stays there. It's the same work we've done on our own site.
The rest is ordinary web development, done in PHP and Laravel with React where an interface needs it: marketing sites that load quickly and stay easy to change, customer portals, and inherited sites that need somebody to read them before anything gets rebuilt. Before a build, we can put full-page design directions side by side, and for a Massachusetts business that review can happen at your table.
We're on Eastern time, Emyrix is a US company on a US contract invoicing in dollars, and most of the state is a drive when a meeting is worth having in person.
Services
Collecting only what the business uses, encrypting it in transit and in backups, limiting who can see it, and writing down where it goes and how long it's kept.
Marketing and product sites that load quickly on a phone and that your team can edit without opening a ticket. Server-rendered where that's simpler, React where the interface benefits from it.
Account areas, dashboards, and the applications your customers use, built on Laravel with accounts and roles, an audit trail, and error reporting from the first version.
Access recovered, the code and the deploy setup read, the urgent problems dealt with first, and a plan you can budget against. A rebuild isn't a condition of getting help.
Full-page designs you can compare side by side before anyone writes the final markup, reviewed on a call or, in Massachusetts, in person.
Security updates, dependency upgrades, monitoring, and the small improvements that otherwise wait a year, on a retainer or when you need us.
Why Emyrix
Two-factor sign-in, encrypted backups, patched dependencies, and input handled as hostile on its way to the admin. These go into the first version, because adding them later means rewriting the parts they touch.
The code, the deploy process, and the decisions behind them are documented, so the next developer, ours or yours, can see what's there and why.

FAQ
If your business owns or licenses personal information about Massachusetts residents, Chapter 93H applies, and the state's data security regulations, 201 CMR 17.00, set out how it has to be protected. Whether you comply is a question for your lawyer. We handle the technical side: collecting only what's needed, encryption, access controls, patched dependencies, and backups.
No. We build and secure the site and can describe exactly what it collects, where that data goes, and how it's protected, which is what your lawyer or compliance advisor will ask. The judgment about whether that meets the law is theirs.
Yes, for businesses in Massachusetts. Full-page directions are easier to choose between at a table than on a shared screen, and most of the state is a drive. Everywhere else, the same review happens on a call.
Emyrix LLC is registered in Massachusetts and works remotely, with no walk-in office. We meet in person in the Boston area and around the state when a kickoff, a design review, or a handover is worth it.
No. We work with businesses across the United States. Being local is useful for the clients it applies to, and the work is remote either way.
