Web Development

Web Development Services

Emyrix builds custom web applications, business websites, and the APIs between them. We're a US company working in PHP and Laravel on the server and React where the interface calls for it, and we take on inherited code as often as new builds.

Web development from Massachusetts, working with businesses across the United States.

Overview

What we do, and why it matters

A lot of the work that comes to us isn't a blank page. It's a website or internal application somebody else built, which now needs to do something it was never designed for — and whoever wrote it has moved on.

That work starts with understanding what you already have. We read the code, trace how the pieces fit together, and tell you what shape it's really in. Sometimes the answer is a rebuild. More often, it's three days of unpicking one bad decision that has been causing problems for years.

New builds are the other half. A marketing site that needs to load quickly and stay easy to change. A customer portal. An internal tool replacing the spreadsheet two people have been quietly maintaining. An integration layer connecting systems that were never designed to talk to each other.

For many of these projects, the stack is straightforward: PHP 8 and Laravel, React on the front end, MySQL, and deployments that run through CI rather than somebody's laptop. The important part isn't the technology for its own sake. It's building something that is understandable, maintainable, and able to grow with the business.

Emyrix LLC is registered in Massachusetts and works remotely with clients across the country. We work comfortably across Eastern, Central, and Pacific time zones, with contracts and invoicing handled in US dollars.

Services

What's included

Custom web applications

Customer portals, internal tools, and dashboards built on Laravel, with the unglamorous parts done properly: accounts and roles, queues, audit trails, background jobs, and error reporting that tells you when something failed.

Websites and front-end builds

Marketing and product sites built to load quickly and stay easy to change. Server-rendered where that's simpler, React where the interface actually benefits from it.

APIs and integrations

REST and GraphQL integrations between your site and the systems it depends on — ERP, CRM, payments, shipping, marketplaces, and more. Including the retries, logging, and alerts that keep a failed feed from failing quietly.

Taking over an existing site

Inheriting a codebase from a previous developer or agency? We start with an audit of what's there, deal with the urgent problems first, and give you a plan you can actually put a budget against.

Legacy PHP modernization

Applications stuck on an unsupported PHP version or abandoned framework don't always need to be rewritten. We handle dependency updates, PHP and framework upgrades, and incremental refactoring that keeps the application running while the work gets done.

Speed and Core Web Vitals

Slow pages, heavy JavaScript, missing caching, and database queries that fall apart under load. We measure first, find the actual bottlenecks, and fix what the numbers point to.

Design directions before the build

See real pages before development starts. We can create full-page design directions you can compare side by side and react to before anyone writes the final markup. Choosing between real pages is easier than approving a mood board.

Maintenance after launch

Security updates, dependency upgrades, monitoring, bug fixes, and the small improvements that otherwise sit on a list for a year. Available as an ongoing retainer or when you need us.

Why Emyrix

What you get working with us

Technical decisions without the runaround

You shouldn't need to explain the same problem to three different people before someone who understands the code can do something about it. We keep the technical work close to the people making the decisions, so questions get answered and problems get addressed without unnecessary layers.

Built to be understood

The code, deployment process, and important decisions are documented so the next developer can understand what is there and why. We don't believe a project should depend on one person remembering how everything works.

A US company on US hours

Emyrix LLC is a Massachusetts company. Contracts, invoicing, and working hours are all domestic, with overlap across US time zones. You can work with a US-based development company without coordinating around an offshore schedule.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What kind of web development do you take on?

Custom web applications, business and marketing websites, APIs and integrations, and the maintenance that follows a launch. PHP and Laravel are a big part of our work, with React where the front end calls for it. E-commerce projects have their own pages, so start with Magento development if that's what you need.

Can you take over a website somebody else built?

Yes. A good share of our work starts that way. We read the codebase, tell you honestly what condition it's in, and deal with what's actually urgent before anything else. A rebuild isn't a condition of getting involved.

Do you work with clients across the United States?

Yes. Emyrix is based in Massachusetts and works remotely with businesses across the United States. We work on US time, use US contracts, and invoice in US dollars.

What do you build with?

PHP 8 and Laravel on the server, React on the front end, MySQL for data, Redis where caching earns its place, and Docker in development and CI. If your project is already built on something else, we'll tell you plainly whether we're the right people to work on it.

Do you handle design as well as development?

We can help establish the direction before development starts, including full-page design concepts you can compare side by side. If you already have a designer, design system, or established brand, we can work from what you provide.

What happens after the site launches?

Most projects continue with maintenance: updates, security patching, monitoring, bug fixes, and a queue of smaller improvements. Others are handed over completely to an in-house team. Either way, the goal is to leave you with something your team can understand and maintain.

How does a project start?

We start with a conversation about the goal, the existing system, and the constraints. From there, we provide a written scope covering what's included, what's not, and what we'd tackle first. If we think the work doesn't need us, we'll say so.

How much does a project cost?

It depends on what we're starting with and what needs to be built. After an initial conversation, we can usually tell you whether the work is best handled as a fixed project, a defined first phase, or ongoing development. We scope the work before asking you to commit to it.
