Overview

What we do, and why it matters

Being in Massachusetts matters less than it used to for the work itself — Magento development has been remote for years and the code does not care where it was written. It still matters for a few things. We are in Eastern time, so a store in Boston, Providence or Hartford gets a full working day of overlap, not a reply that arrives overnight. We are a US company, invoicing in dollars, on a US contract, which is a shorter conversation for a finance team than an offshore vendor is.

And when a project genuinely benefits from being in a room — a migration kickoff, a launch, a difficult handover from an outgoing team — Boston and the surrounding area are a drive rather than a flight.

The rest is the same work we do for stores anywhere: Magento 2 and Adobe Commerce builds, upgrades, performance work, security patching, and ongoing support.

Services

What's included

Magento development

New Magento 2 builds, custom modules, integrations, and storefront work for merchants in Massachusetts and beyond.

Magento support & maintenance

Retained support with security patching, upgrades, monitoring, and the small fixes that otherwise queue up for months.

Performance optimization

Slow category and product pages, checkout latency, cache and indexer problems, and Core Web Vitals.

Magento upgrades

Version and PHP upgrades with the extension and custom-code work that comes attached to them.

Adobe Commerce

B2B accounts and pricing, Adobe Commerce Cloud deployments, and the licensing conversation about whether you need the edition you are paying for.

Taking over an existing store

Inheriting a Magento build from a previous developer or agency, auditing what is there, and getting it back to a state where changes are routine.

Why Emyrix

What you get working with us

Eastern time, working hours

A question sent in the morning gets an answer in the morning. It sounds small until you have spent a quarter working with a team eleven hours ahead.

A US company on a US contract

Emyrix LLC is registered in Massachusetts. Dollars, domestic invoicing, and a legal entity your counsel can look up.

On-site when it is worth it

Most of this work does not need anyone in a room. When it does — a kickoff, a launch, a handover — the Boston area is close enough to just come.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Where in Massachusetts is Emyrix based?

Emyrix LLC is registered in Massachusetts and works remotely. There is no walk-in office and we would rather say so than list an address that is really a mailbox.

Do you only work with Massachusetts businesses?

No. We work with e-commerce businesses across the United States. Being local is a convenience for the merchants it applies to, not a requirement for anyone else.

Can you meet in person in Boston?

Yes, when it is useful. Kickoffs, launches, and handovers from an outgoing team are the ones where being in the room genuinely helps. Routine development work does not need it and we will not pad a project with travel.

Do you work with agencies as a subcontractor?

Yes. A share of our work is Magento engineering behind another agency's client relationship — either as extra capacity or as the Magento depth on a team that does not have it in house.

What size of store do you work with?

Mostly established stores with real order volume, where the platform is the business and not an experiment. We are equally useful on a store doing a few hundred orders a month with a specific problem, and less useful to somebody launching their first store on a starter budget.
