Magento Development Agency

Emyrix is a Magento development agency for merchants and agencies that need Magento 2 built properly and kept maintainable. We take on new storefronts, replatforming, upgrades, and the custom module work that off-the-shelf extensions can't cover.

Overview

What we do, and why it matters

Magento is powerful and unforgiving. A store that's architected well handles complex catalogs, B2B pricing, and peak-season traffic without drama; one that isn't turns every change into a risk. Our Magento developers work on the second kind of store as often as the first — inheriting custom code, untangling it, and getting the platform back to a state where shipping features is routine rather than frightening.

We work across Magento Open Source, Adobe Commerce, and Mage-OS, and we're equally comfortable starting a build from a clean slate or joining an existing codebase mid-flight.

Services

What's included

New Magento 2 builds

Storefronts architected for real catalogs and clean deploys — theme, catalog structure, checkout, and the integrations around them.

Replatforming to Magento

Moving to Magento from Shopify, WooCommerce, or a legacy platform, with data migration and URL/SEO preservation planned up front.

Hyvä theme development

Building on or migrating to Hyvä for a fast, maintainable storefront without the Luma/Knockout weight.

Custom modules & integrations

Modules, admin tools, and REST/GraphQL integrations with ERP, PIM, CRM, payment, tax, and shipping systems.

B2B commerce

Company accounts, tiered and negotiated pricing, quotes, and approval workflows on Adobe Commerce B2B or custom-built.

Taking over an existing store

Inheriting a store from a previous developer or agency: an audit of the code, extensions, hosting, and deploy process, the urgent problems dealt with first, and a plan you can put a budget against.

Legacy cleanup & refactoring

Untangling inherited custom code so upgrades stop breaking and new work stops being a gamble.

Magento 1 migration

Moving off Magento 1 — data migration, extension replacement, and the URL mapping that protects your traffic. Or onto OpenMage LTS when a full rebuild isn't this year's project.

Why Emyrix

What you get working with us

Senior engineering throughout

The people scoping your work are the people writing it, so what you explain up front carries straight through to the code.

Upgrade-safe by default

We stay inside Magento conventions — plugins, DI, service contracts — so core upgrades and security patches don't fight your customizations.

Maintainable handoff

Code, deploy steps, and decisions documented enough to survive the next update, handoff, or hire.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Do you work on Magento Open Source or Adobe Commerce?

Both, plus Mage-OS. We help teams pick the right edition for their needs and can move a store between them when it makes sense.

Can you take over an existing Magento project?

Yes. A large share of our work is inheriting an existing codebase — auditing it, stabilizing it, and then building on it. We don't require a rebuild to get involved.

Can you fix Magento work done by another agency?

Yes. A lot of what we take on is a store where the previous agency's work is the problem — an extension patched in place, a checkout customization nobody documented, core files edited directly. We read what's there and separate what's broken from what's just unfamiliar, fix the urgent part first, and put the rest in an order you can budget.

What happens if our Magento developer disappears?

Get the access sorted first: the code repository, the hosting, the admin, DNS, and the accounts for any paid extensions. If you don't have those, recovering them is the first job. Then we read the codebase and the deployment setup and tell you what state it's actually in. Most stores in this position don't need a rebuild. They need somebody who understands what was built.

Do you deal with extension conflicts?

Yes. Two extensions rewriting the same class, a plugin firing in the wrong order, a module that was fine until the last upgrade — these are behind a lot of "Magento is broken" calls. We find the module responsible from the store's own logs and the code, then fix it or replace it.

Do you build with Hyvä?

Yes. We build new stores on Hyvä and migrate existing Luma storefronts to it when speed and maintainability are the priority.

How do you keep customizations from breaking on upgrades?

We stay inside Magento extension points — plugins, observers, dependency injection, and service contracts — rather than editing core, so upgrades and patches apply cleanly.

Can you migrate our Magento 1 store?

Yes. Magento 1 to Magento 2 is a rebuild with a data migration attached rather than an upgrade, and we scope it that way — extension inventory, data mapping, and URL preservation. We'll also tell you honestly when moving to OpenMage LTS on current PHP is the better use of this year's budget.
